Tis' the season to love and to give. As we live the darkest days of the year, we all become little Santas in our own right. Making things cheery and bright with our spirit. Our entire society is based off the goodwill of neighbors and giving. Do onto others as you would have done onto you. This is where the social contract begins.

I want to touch on giving, because our culture is obsessed with shopping. Can we not buy so many presents this year? Maybe just a few. Treat your mom and your closes relatives with thoughtful presents, that's it.

Charitable Giving

There are a couple of special organizations that I want to introduce you to. They will make your heart leap with joy in a lasting way like no Amazon shipment can:

The Grandmother's Council: represents a global alliance of thirteen indigenous grandmothers whom through prayer and education offer healing for our Mother Earth and protection for the indigenous ways of life.

Thistle Farms: offers natural bath/body/home products. Your purchase directly supports women who have survived trafficking, prostitution and domestic abuse. They are made by survivors and support survivors.

She's The First: they provide support to girls who will be the first in their families to graduate from high school. 2/3 of the world's illiterate adults are women. We must spread education to women in all parts of the world to ensure equality and the survival of our species.

Compassion Collective: they support motherless children. It started in 2016 to help displaced and orphaned Syrian children and they now have a program to help homeless American youth.

🌸 Rose Tea is cooling and heart-opening. It soothes emotional intensity and helps balance heat in the blood and skin.⁠

🌿Peppermint Tea is naturally cooling to the digestive system. It helps reduce inflammation and is great for those overheated summer moments—whether they’re physical or emotional.⁠

🌺 Hibiscus Tea is cooling and cleansing—it’s tart flavor is oh-so-refreshing and the perfect addition to your summer mocktails.⁠

Here are my go-to summer fruits and veggies to keep that Pitta calm, your digestion happy and your skin hydrated and glowing:⁠

🥒 Cucumbers: The ultimate Pitta soother, hydrating and cooling.⁠
🍉 Watermelon: Sweet, juicy and the perfect antidote to summer’s heat.⁠
🍓 Strawberries: Antioxidant-rich, sweet and a little astringent—the optimal light pick me up.⁠
🍑 Peaches: Hydrating and satisfying: Is there anything better than a fat, juicy summer peach!?⁠
🥒 Zucchini (and all your summer squashes): Moist, cooling and easy to digest.⁠
🍒 Cherries: Sweet and astringent goodness with heart-loving benefits.⁠
🌽 Sweet Corn: Grounding and satisfying, a perfect addition to your summer salads.⁠
🫐 Blueberries: Cooling and cleansing, while also supporting overall digestion. Their antioxidant-rich profile is just a bonus!⁠
🍇 Grapes: Grapes are kinda like nature’s perfect summer candy, amiright!? ⁠

~ Keep it seasonal and local if you can, even if it doesn’t match this list perfectly!⁠

~ Mid-morning or afternoon is the ideal time to consume fruit while honoring our agni’s rhythm.⁠
