Herbal Sleepytime Mocktail

Blog Featured Image (1200 × 628 px)

We had to put our Shakti-fied twist on the Sleepy Mocktail 🍹This herbal sleepy time tonic is the perfect nighttime bev for getting your beauty rest! 💤⁣
⁣
Adding passionflower and ashwaghanda, which have both linked with stress relief, give this mocktail some extra relaxation oomf 💪🏼⁣
⁣
Passionflower has also been linked with gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain, and GABA reduces activity in the central nervous system which can support relaxation and sleep.⁣
⁣
Here’s what you’re gonna need:⁣
⁣
~ ½ cup passion flower tea infusion (make this ahead of time- add one teabag or 1 tsp of loose passion flower to 1 cup boiling water. Let steep for about 15mins (you can also make this in bulk and leave in the fridge to have on hand all week 😉)⁣
⁣~ ½ cup tart cherry juice⁣
⁣~ Magnesium powder (one serving according to your powder’s instructions!)⁣
⁣~ 1-2 droppers full ashwaghanda (or 1/2 tsp powder)⁣
⁣~ A pinch of mineral salt and squeeze of lime⁣
⁣
Add all ingredients and shake or blend!⁣
⁣
🍒Ayurveda Rebel Version: add a splash of sparkling water (we won’t tell if you won’t 🤫)⁣
⁣
🌬Vata-friendly Version: warm cherry juice slightly (or mix into your warm tea infusion to warm it up) and forgo the sparkling water. Enjoy 😉

You wanna’ know the super secret SIMPLE recipe f You wanna’ know the super secret SIMPLE recipe for a Kapha-balancing morning routine?

⚡️ Move your body, build some heat and get the energy flowing. 💃🏻

Sometimes balancing the doshas is really that simple. Especially when it comes to early spring and balancing an excess of Kapha dosha in the atmosphere or your body.

Think light, heating and momentum. Kapha season loves movement, stimulation and a little sweat, because late winter and early spring can otherwise leave us feeling slow and foggy.

At The Shakti School we wholeheartedly believe that sometimes the most Ayurvedic thing you can do is dance it out. 😉

✨ Ready to go deeper? Calling all Shakti students who are ready to deepen in Ayurvedic theory and practice! Our Level 2 training begins April 21st. In Level 2, you’ll take your skills (and your healing) to a whole new level. 📚

🌿 And if you’re brand new, comment WISDOM and we’ll send you our free Divine Feminine Ayurveda mini-course to get started.
Living from the heart with a capacity to hold dept Living from the heart with a capacity to hold depth of experience is one of the greatest revolutionary acts we can undertake.

When the heart chakra (Anahata) is vibrant and open, we step into our most powerful self: embodied, grounded and in right relationship with ourselves and others.

This center is not just about emotions. It’s about the integration of lower and higher energies, the way experience is processed through the subtle body, and how our field of compassion literally shapes our relationships and nervous system.

This sacred center holds the alchemy of love and strength, and when supported, becomes a source of resilience, wise boundaries, surrender and authentic connection.

This same principle of integration, resonance and embodied insight is the heart of Level 2 Ayurveda School.

After completing Level 1, your foundation in Ayurvedic rhythms, elemental intelligence and feminine-form medicine has begun to reveal your prakruti, who you are at a deeper level.

In Level 2, we take it even further:

💗 Explore the pathways of dis-ease and how imbalance unfolds from subtle energetic layers into physical manifestation.

💗 Learn diagnostic skills like pulse, tongue and eye assessment. These tools that help you read subtle information the body reveals.

💗 Study emotion processing, sensual health, herbal remedies and movement for exactly where you are. These are the spaces where heart wisdom meets practical healing.

💗 Hone Ayurvedic counseling strategies so you can guide others from insight to transformation.

This year-long certification is more than a curriculum. It’s a journey into the intelligence of life itself, where the profound meets the practical and ancient medicine becomes living medicine.

If you’ve felt the call to help yourself and others live more fully, more awake and more like YOU, this is your next step.

DM us any questions you have. We’re here to support you. ✨
That first warm day hits and suddenly your life fo That first warm day hits and suddenly your life force is BACK. ☀️

In Ayurveda, early spring is Kapha season. The earthy, watery energy that can build up through winter as heaviness, stagnation and a little extra “meh.” But when the sun returns and temperatures start to rise, nature begins to melt… and so do we. Movement, dancing, walking, shaking it all off - this is the season for stirring prana and getting things flowing again.

Translation: your sudden urge to dance with joy when you see the sun come out?

Perfectly seasonally appropriate, according to Ayurveda. 😉💃🌱

Your tongue is a living mirror of your body’s ec Your tongue is a living mirror of your body’s ecosystem. 👅🌀

Ayurveda teaches that the tongue reflects digestion, detoxification, tissue health and even how well you’re processing life itself.

When your digestive fire - aka your agni - is strong, the tongue tends to look clear, pink and vibrant.

When things are sluggish or overloaded? The tongue often tells on us before our body does.

👇🏼 Here are three daily rituals you can implement to take care of your AGNI and AMA and therefore your tongue (and really, all the systems of your body!)

✨ Scrape your tongue! Tongue scraping gently removes overnight ama (toxins) and bacteria, supports fresher breath and gives your digestive fire a clean slate for the day.

💧 Drink warm water with lemon in the morning. Warm water in the morning hydrates tissues, gently stimulates elimination and helps flush what the tongue scraping brings to the surface.

🫖 Include spices in your diet. Support agni with warming spices like ginger, cinnamon or clove tea to kindle digestion so less residue accumulates in the first place.

These small rituals have a radiant ripple effect.
