Why holistic spirituality is THE practice for mode Why holistic spirituality is THE practice for modern women ↓

1. It invites us to embrace and enjoy all aspects of our lives.

If you’re a woman who wants to enjoy her life in all the earthly, sensual, spiritual ways, a holistic spiritual approach combined with Ayurveda offers THE theoretical marriage that can help you get there.

The way we explore spirituality at The Shakti School allows the practitioner to love her life, her partner and her mess of a house, without feeling less-than a perfect yogini, a Divine Mother or an Aphrodite Goddess of Love.

2. It doesn’t demonize our desires.

Mysticism is for the woman who wants it all in her modern life: spiritual fulfillment, worldly success by her own terms, a loving romantic partnership AND a life outside of her romantic partnership. If something is part of the fullest expression of you, a holistic view says: it is spiritual.

3. Your spiritual practice doesn’t have to be separate from your “regular” life.

A holistic spiritual practice allows us to experience our divinity without having to transcend reality. That means - our spiritual practice doesn't have to be this other thing we do early in the morning, but that spirit is woven throughout our lived experience if we have the mindful eyes to see it.

Whether solo, with friends or your beloved, try these out this week to tap boost your Kama Shakti. 🌹
Permission to indulge in these aphrodisiacs that m Permission to indulge in these aphrodisiacs that might already be in your kitchen this week 👇🏼

🌿 Arugula - A Mediterranean staple, this little leaf, also appropriately named “rocket” gives salads a little boost of fire. In Italy, arugula is said to boost passion because of its intense taste bud stimulation and its peppery flavor.

🥑 Avocados - Just look at this sensual food! The oil of an avocado is one of the best lubricating, collagen-saving substances on the planet. An avocado a day gives us smoother, more moisturized skin (all body parts included!)

🐿 Walnuts - Often foods look like what they are good for! Walnuts are great for the brain, and as we know, our inner love fire often starts in our psychology! The science is clear - walnuts give us an amazing boost of unsaturated fats, particularly alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a type of omega-3 fatty acid. It also practically squirts out Vitamin E and polyphenols, which can help reduce oxidative stress and lower inflammation.

🍯 Honey - Oftentimes, the appearance and smells of foods are what makes them aphrodisiacs. Honey reminds us of the vital, life-bringing sap of our juicy nature. It is also the deep nourishment of life, the sweetness of our passion and pleasure. Honey is condensed effort - much like our human baby-making substances.

🍫 Chocolate - the quintessential ancient Aztec aphrodisiac. Chocolate holds multiple compounds that can boost mood and arousal, such as phenylethylamine, serotonin, and anandamide. It is also rich in PEA, a.k.a. “the love chemical," which is believed to promote feelings of well-being and happiness.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, anything can be aphrodisiac if it builds a certain quality in the body and mind we call Ojas.

Ojas is youth. It is health and immunity. It is a feeling of well-being, safety and belonging. It is satisfaction. It is the juice and sap that makes plants and people flourish.

As we age, and go through the inevitable stresses of life, this youthful sap gets depleted. The following foods mentioned above us keep our happiness juices and creative sap for longer and longer! That is what makes us truly in love.
